Hip-to-gable conversions
Extend the sloping side of a hipped roof into a full gable and unlock a loft that once looked too small.
Many semi-detached and detached homes around Stockport and Cheshire have hipped roofs that leave too little headroom for a usable loft. Building the hip out to a vertical gable, often with a rear dormer, transforms the space.
Matching the brickwork or render on the new gable is the detail that makes it look original, and it's something we take care over.

Is hip-to-gable suitable for my house?
If your roof slopes down on the side as well as the front and back, it's probably a candidate. We'll tell you at the first site visit.
