Do we move or do we extend? Most families reach that question at some point: the family's growing, the way you live has changed, or the house simply doesn't fit any more. We think you should weigh up every pro and con so you can make the best-informed decision, and after two decades of domestic building we're well placed to help you do that.
The best extensions start well before anyone draws a line. Work out what you want the new space to do, list the advantages and disadvantages, and decide your must-haves: wet room or en suite, underfloor heating or radiators, renewables, floor, wall and electrical finishes. The more of this you give your architect, the better the drawings and the more accurately every builder can price your tender.
